After three self organized lacrosse trips to Europe, Lacrosse Playground is partnering with WorldStrides Sports Travel for the lacrosse experience of a lifetime.

Lacrosse Program

Athletes will participate in five on field training sessions and compete in three exhibition games. Each team will have two dedicated coaches for the games but all staff will be interacting with the athletes during the training sessions and supporting on the sideline.

The rosters are capped at 25 and playing time will be divided up equally.

Upon finalizing the roster, we will coordinate with WorldStrides to select the highest competition possible.

During the five training sessions, we will introduce athletes to professional grade instruction to ensure their 2025 spring season is a success. Our goal is for each athlete to be exponentially better by the end of the trip. Winning the exhibition games will be a bonus.

DAY 1
Flight to Scotland, depart from JFK- NYC

DAY 2
Check in at Hotel Arrive at a hotel in the Glasgow area that will be your base for the next four nights.
Welcome Meeting Begin with a welcome meeting and orientation. Enjoy free time to explore the area around the hotel.
Lacrosse Training Session Participate in a Training
Session at a local field led by your coaching staff.

Glasgow Cathedral visit a church so well-regarded that in 1451, the Pope declared a pilgrimage to it would merit the same as one to Rome. The present cathedral, built in the 12th century, sits on the site of a monastery founded by St. Mungo. Visit also includes the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist and Blacader Aisle

Friendly Lacrosse Match Play a friendly match against a local club team in the London area. The team will meet and compete against athletes of similar ages and skill levels.
Tower of London visit Get up close and personal with the Tower of London. The Crown jewels are housed here, including the largest cut diamond in the world. Beefeaters (guards) lead tours through the Tower.

Friendly Lacrosse Match
Windsor Castle Excursion See how the King relaxes on this tour of the royal weekend estate (originally built as a fortress in the 11th century, when William the Conqueror ruled). Alternatively see the Gothic-style St. George’s Chapel or peek into the rooms of Queen Mary’s doll house.

Room and Board

Athletes will have breakfast and dinner provided by their player fees. They will be on their own to explore lunch options.

The team stays in hotels, not hostels.

Fundraising

Lacrosse Playground

While Lacrosse Playground has over 84,000 followers on social media, we understand we cannot reach everyone.

If an accepted family recommends another athlete that we accept, you will receive $100 discount on your October payment without a cap.

WorldStrides

No cap on individual fundraising. WorldStrides provides a couple avenues participants can use such as our Manchester United Fundraiser Raffle, and our Gift of Sport.

Gift of Sport is much like a GoFundMe page. People can donate directly to an individual's account and 100% of that donation goes towards the tour fee.

Family Discounts for Non Athletes

Parents and siblings are welcome to travel and can purchase their trip through WorldStrides.

10% discount on tour fee for the third immediate family member

15% discount for fourth and beyond immediate family member

- Example:

Player – Full price.

Father – Full Price.

Mother – 10% discount

Sibling – 15% discount

Supervision

Athletes must have a cell phone with international calling during the trip. Staff will use WhatsApp as a first point of communication.

There will be two coaches assigned per team as well as a tour director from World Strides for our activities outside of the hotel.

This is not a “senior trip.” Athletes have a curfew and coaches check rooms. Athletes who staying up all night in their hotel rooms will sour their overall experience.

We cannot watch everyone 24/7. We travel with student athletes who are serious about improving themselves on the lacrosse field and growing as a person off the field.

World Strides Cancellation

Standard Cancellation Policy is below. We recommend travelers choose one of the below Travel Protection Plans in case injury happens leading up to the trip. Both provide cash refunds – not just credit for a future trip.

Standard Cancellation Policy:

$399 non-refundable fee if more than 150 days

$599 non-refundable fee if between 150-110 days

50% of all fees + $99 non-refundable fee if between 109-76 days

75% of all fees + $99 non-refundable fee if between 75-31 days

100% if 30 days or less

• Travel Protection Plan - $149

• Purchased at registration. Covers you for the below situations leading up to travel and while abroad.

• Coverage:

• Enhanced medical, injury, or dental treatment while traveling

• A traveler’s injury, sickness, or death of a family member

• Theft of passport or visas

• Flight cancellations due to strike or bad weather

• Loss of luggage and personal effects

• Trip cancellation or trip interruption due to covered reasons such as a covered sickness, illness, injury, or death

• Ultimate Protection Plan - $249

• Also includes Cancel for Any Reason benefit. If you cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy, we will reimburse you for 75% of the non-refundable cancellation fees which apply to your trip provided:

• Payment for this trip is received by WorlStrides within 14 days of the initial deposit/payment of your trip; and

• You cancel your trip 48 hours (2 days) or more before your scheduled trip departure dates. 

The cost of both plans are non-refundable.

Lacrosse Playground will follow the same refund/cancellation policy. Protection Plan coverage to be made available for purchase in September.
